Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
What does it do?
The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides out of hours cover for all Social Care emergencies within the Bradford Metropolitan District;
Who is it for?
The EDT provides an out of hours Social Care emergency assessment and crisis intervention service in all situations where a crisis has occurred outside of office hours that cannot wait until the next working day. Our work involves: The EDT’s response to referrals will be prioritised such as: Where a child is at risk An urgent assessment is needed under the Mental Health Act Where a vulnerable adult is at risk. The team member on duty will make an assessment, on the telephone, of any immediate need or risk and then take appropriate action to ensure that an individual or family is safe until the next working day.
How do I access it?
The service is available outside of normal office hours 365 days a year: Monday – Thursday 5.00pm to 7.30am the following morning Fridays 4.30pm to 7.30am Monday, with 24 hour cover at weekends and throughout Bank Holidays.
