Better Start Bradford

What does it do?
Better Start Bradford is a National Lottery Community Fund funded programme to help children in Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Little Horton get the best start in life. We are providing more than 20 projects for pregnant women and families with children aged under four. The projects will help to improve children’s emotional and social development, communication and language development and nutrition. Led by Bradford Trident, we have been funded by the Big Lottery Fund to run for 10 years (from 2015). Working with local partners, we aim to leave a lasting legacy for children, families and the whole area. All our work is being evaluated through our Innovation Hub, working in partnership with Born in Bradford. We hope the new way of working we’re developing can be rolled out in other areas too.

Who is it for?
Families expecting babies or with children under four who live in the Better Start Bradford area of Bowling & Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Little Horton. There is a postcode checker on the website for people to check that they are in the Better Start Bradford area.
