VITAL Projects

What does it do?
VITAL Projects is a unique organisation providing Independent Mental Health User Led Services since 1989. We provide specialist user led Mental Health Advocacy; occupy a liaison role in relation to local mental health commissioners on behalf of mental health service users and carers; and also have a Mental Health Befriending among our other service areas.... VITAL Projects have developed specialist knowledge ensuring we provide the very best service possible to mental health service users both in hospitals and communities. VITAL Projects is a ‘user-led’ service meaning that the majority of our staff and volunteers have had experience as a service user, or carer. This adds a passionate dynamic to VITAL Projects where workers are acutely aware of how important advocacy is, many of whom have received advocacy services themselves.

Who is it for?
Are you ill with no support? People who are experiencing mental ill health don’t always have access to the right services, or know what services are available. The mental health system can be daunting to people, especially if this is the first time you have experienced mental ill health. Advocacy can help you express your needs to access the right services. This may be support seeing your GP, or signposting you to others who may help. Advocacy can ensure that your needs and views are expressed to the right people hopefully enabling you to access the appropriate services.

If you feel an advocate may be able to help, please contact us on 01274 770118 or visit out website
