Valley View House

What does it do?
Valley View House is a residential home for children and young people, aged 5-18 (both male and female) with a learning disability and or difficulty. It provides long term and shared care placements and Specialist Short Break for children and young people. Up to 7 children can be looked after on a planned residential basis. There are 2 Specialist Short Break beds and 2 shared care placement beds. A safe environment for young people to manage their behaviour, build on their life skills, quality of life, helping children/ young people to lead full and active lives by addressing their individual needs, supporting families. Protect vulnerable Children/young people. Parents/carers and other family members with an opportunity to provide a 50/50 placement whereby children need full time accommodation but will want to visit home more regularly. A stimulating and enjoyable experience for each child or young person, activities are based on promoting independence and life skills ensuring the young people are not excluded from socializing with their peers both inside the unit and out in the community.

Who is it for?
Valley View House is a residential home for children and young people, aged 5-18 (both male and female) with a learning disability and or difficulty. We are a tier 3 and 4 service. Young people may present with challenging behaviours and the staff team are professional and qualified to support with behaviour management. The range of disability may extend to a profound level i.e a combination of autism, complex health and learning disability

How do I access it?
The needs of all children and young people using the services of Valley View House will be fully assessed by the Care Management Team CCHDT by an allocated Social Worker. This is prior to commencement and all full- time placements will be discussed by the complex needs panel and accessed through placement co-ordination and in referral meetings for specialist short break, 50/50 shared care and placements.
