What does it do?
What is a Day Care Centre? They provide a range of activities, an opportunity to socialise and meet friends and a hot meal. Day centre staff and volunteers organise many types of social activities and events for you to enjoy such as: ‘Active in Age’ sessions mental and physical fitness (gentle exercise, Bingo) discussions guest speakers board games themed events day trips We are registered with Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a provider for a designated type of care.

Who is it for?
Who are Day Care Centres for? Older people living in Bradford who might feel alone and isolated at home. Older people needing practical support and personal care during the day. Older people with: a physical or learning disability sight or hearing loss struggling due to frailty or illness mental health needs Family and carers needing a break Other schemes and activities

 

Other schemes and activities

There are a range of different groups offering a wide range of activities, befriending, exercise and practical help. Many of the schemes, especially for older people are local and vary from place to place. We can advise you on what’s available where you live.

We also have a number of luncheon clubs in the district. They are a good chance to have a hot meal in a friendly social environment.

We welcome people from all cultural backgrounds and our day centres and luncheon clubs will try to cater for everyone’s needs and preferences.
