Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

What does it do?
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is a nature conservation charity which is creating a Yorkshire rich in wildlife for everyone. We look after nature reserves (woodlands, farms, rivers, meadows, beaches) and work on projects that protect and restore nature and wildlife. We also run many people engagement activities at our reserves to connect people with the wildlife on their doorstep. We don’t look after sick or injured animals and our activities very rarely involve seeing or holding wildlife. We just create the homes it needs!

Who is it for?
Volunteering with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is for almost everyone. What you can do locally depends on where you are and what help we need but if you can follow simple instructions, and use tools such as hammers and saws safely you can come along to one of our practical conservation task days. Other volunteering roles are available and give the opportunity to different skills you may have such as communication, organisation or computer skills. If you want to use your time and skills to help wildlife look us up!

How do I access it?
The best places to start are our website and our Practical Conservation Calendar (on our website). These will show you which roles we are looking to fill near you and will explain the next steps. No application form is needed for our practical conservation task days but for other roles you will need to fill one out before volunteering.
