SEND Partnership Communication and Engagement

As part of our journey the Bradford SEND services will look to both improve our communication and also engage with more parent/ carer and children and young people. This work is to better inform families of the of services available and also allow a better understanding of the lived experience of service users and look to work with families to improve service provision. This work is an important part of the SEND Code of Practice and is currently done in Bradford in a number of ways.

Improving Communication and Engagement with Service users:

As part of our commitment to improve communication and engagement with service users we are doing the following;

1) Coproduction Values - these are values agreed to by the SEND Partnership to promote communication, engagement and joint working with parent/ carer and Children and Young People. Please click here to see the values.

2) SEND Local Offer newsletter - this is our monthly e-newsletter available to families, parent/ carers and professionals to update families on SEND within Bradford. For more information please sign up here.

3) SEND Local Offer Review- the Local Offer team is currently working with families to look to refresh the local offer and provide an improved experience through the new website.

4) SEND Partnership Engagement Plan - this is a summary of the engagement work happening at present within our partnership to listen to families and children and young people. Please click here to see the most up to date Engagement Plan.

5) SEND Annual Parent/ carer survey - this was designed and developed by our SEND parent/ carer network group in 2022 and completed by over 150 parent/ carers.

6) SEND Children and Young People's annual survey. This was designed by the partnership last summer to help us develop our children and young people democracy work. Please click here for survey results.
