Welcome to Disability Action Yorkshire DAY Holiday clubs
We are really pleased and excited to announce that we will be providing a holiday club throughout the year to cover half terms
We are offering both an exciting online and in person programme of activities throughout the year.
Our holiday club focuses on fun, whilst fostering an enriching environment which promotes co-operation, participation, ‘have a go’ attitudes and positivity. We enable disabled people to come together within an encouraging environment, form friendships, learn new skills and above all- enjoy the activities and experiences on offer while increasing in confidence. All learners, no matter their ability or experience level, will be supported and encouraged with learning new skills whilst taking part in enriching experiences.
Each week is tailored with a captivating theme at its heart, and our bespoke creative curriculum delivers fun and opportunities to learn, within a supportive and structured environment.
Throughout the week you will take part in a variety of activities that give you the opportunity to access a wide range of local venues and in house activities which promote:
Personal development
Independence skills
Mental health and wellbeing
Communication and self-advocacy skills
Travel skills
Skills to help you access the local and wider community
Co-operation and collaboration
Your dreams, goals and future aspirations
Our weekly themes are:
Wildness and wellbeing
Chocolate week
Gardening week
Fashion or Engines week
Yorkshire week
Extreme Locations week
Harry Potter week
Space week
Inventor week
Each week will include a full and varied timetable of activities- which include:
Art/DT Philosophy Maths Science Wellness
The Great Outdoors English Music/Dance Life Skills
Key information:
The daily rate is: £75.00 – 9.30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
You have the flexibility to attend 1-5 days a week, the choice is yours!
Refreshments- Tea, coffee and water are provided, however you will need to bring money for lunch or a packed lunch and any snacks.
