BDCFT 0-19 School Nursing Team Bradford District

Name of Service – School Nursing Team Bradford District

What do we do?

Our School Nursing team are all fully qualified practitioners consisting of School Nurses, Staff Nurses and Community Nursery Nurses. We work across education and health providing a link between school, home and the community with the aim to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people by promoting healthy lifestyles.

Who is it for?

We work with families and young people from ages five to nineteen years old and cover all the mainstream schools within the Bradford District.

We may send you information about our service at when your child first starts school at school entry age and at other key transition points in the lives of children and young people.

How can you access the service?

If your child is attending school, it’s often useful to discuss health issues with your child’s school first if you are able to, as school may also have some concerns and in some cases they can refer direct to specialist services to help you. Parents/carers and young people can contact us by ringing our children’s services administration hub number which is:

01274 221203

You will be able to request a call back to discuss a health issue relating to your child or yourself as a young person with a member of the school nursing team. If we can’t help we can often advise and signpost or refer to other services which may be useful to you.

Wherever possible we will aim to meet your communication, access, & information needs as per the Accessible Information Standard. Please inform the team of your, accessibility & / or accessibility to information requirements.

Our hours of working are Monday to Friday 08.30 until 17.00 excluding bank holidays.
