Education, Health and Care Plan - Quality Assurance group

Since January 2019, a significant investment has been made across the SEND services with the aim of driving forward the SEND Reforms and the recovery process for EHC compliance and quality assurance.  This includes a full restructure of the 0-25 Integrated Assessment Team with an increased number of SEN Casework Officers. In addition to this, a Targeted Assessment Team was established in June 2019 to address a significant number of historic non-compliant EHCP cases that were impacting on overall EHCP compliance. These matters have now been resolved and it is right that the focus is placed on producing high quality EHCPs that meet the needs of children and young people with SEND in Bradford.

It is important to us that all children, young people and their families are able to input into the development of their EHCP and Annual Reviews so that each child or young person can achieve their full potential. A multi-agency Quality Assurance group has been formed to monitor this. The group is Chaired by the Assistant SEN Team Manager, supported by the Vice-Chair who is the Designated Clinical Officer for SEND in the Bradford CCG. Membership of the group includes: SEN Senior Casework Officers; the Principal Educational Psychologist; Senior Education Psychologists; Social Care managers including one from the Transition Team and one from the Children's Complex Health and Disability Teams.

The first two reports from the group can be found below:

Report 1 - January to June 2020

Report 2 - July to September 2020

This group forms part of our internal audit processes but we are are always interested to hear about your experience of the EHC assessment process and the views of yours and your child's plans. If you want to share your experiences, you can do so by clicking on Rate This Service on the left hand side of the page.
