Shipley College Supported Internships 16-24 Yrs

What we do:

We have been supporting  young people with SEND on Supported Internship Programmes since 2012. Supported Internships are a structured work based study programme for young people aged 16-24 with additional needs, who want to get into work. Being given the opportunity of an Internship can be life changing for our interns. We provide our interns with opportunities to fulfil their career aspirations, working with local employers to meet a genuine business need.

Who do we work with:

Young people with an EHCP who want to gain employability skills and wish to work.

Please view our Course leaflet here.

What support do we offer:

We provide a Job coach, 1:1 if necessary, to support the interns throughout the programme.

More Information and FAQs:

We undertake skills assessments, vocational profiling, careers advice and guidance, CV’s, practice interviews, undertake comprehensive health and safety checks and DBS checks (where necessary). Interns study maths and English and employability.

Our interns are also able to access the full range of services available at Shipley College including a Learning Resource Centre, free fitness suite, wide range of extra curricular activities and student support.
