Bradford NHS Children’s Occupational Therapy

Please view our website to see how Occupational Therapy  can help your child.

Overview

We work with babies, children and young people  as well as their families to help them become more independent with daily occupations. Occupations are the ordinary and familiar activities children and young people need to do every day. These  may include dressing, using cutlery, personal hygiene and accessing the curriculum at school.  We assess what they can do and what is difficult for them and provide practical support/advice to help them achieve the goals that are important to them.

Who is it for?

We see babies, children and young people from the age of 0 up to 19 (if they are still in full time special education) with functional difficulties.

We see children with a range of conditions, including:
•    Physical disabilities and difficulties with a range of causes, such as cerebral palsy, Neuromuscular conditions, and juvenile arthritis
•    Motor co-ordination difficulties like Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia)
•    Developmental delay / developmental impairment
•    We see children in a variety of settings including nurseries, children’s centres, mainstream schools, special schools and in the home. We may see children in other locations according to need.

How do I access it?
