Changing Places Awareness Day

Changing Places Awareness Day is an annual event that has been happening for 12 years now and highlights the increasing need for Changing Places across the country for disabled people.

Last year I was involved, as a parent, with the’ Looathon’ event in London at the BATH STORE, with many parents, celebrities, campaigners etc. ( Georgia and Rebecca attended along with Dan White ); It is ironic that this year I’m now working with Changing Places  them and organising the Awareness day event Nationally!

I’m putting together a toolkit of resources for anyone to get involved with this on the day, could just be a simple selfie in a Changing Places on the day, to holding an event on the day to raise awareness. There a few events planned already across the country. I’m aware some colleagues and campaigners in Leeds are already planning something and hoping to invite Hannah Cockcroft along on the day too.

Anyway, please take a look at it , the link to the website is here ( that’s as far as we’ve got!) let me know if you’d like to come along or get involved in some way in your cities; or perhaps if the CANN groups want to do something?
