YNCB Advisory Group - Recruiting New Members!

At the National Children’s Bureau (NCB), we make sure that children and young people’s views and experiences inform every aspect of our work to bring about lasting change for them, their services, and their communities.

YNCB is an advisory group for children and young people ages 11-25. It gives young people the opportunity to speak out about the things that are important to them and shape the work we do to improve the lives of children and young people.

We are currently recruiting new YNCB members. This is a fantastic opportunity open to all young people aged 11-18, and to disabled young people and those with a special educational need aged 11-24. There is no experience required – just a desire to have your voice heard on issues affecting children and young people.

What does it look like?

  • Members attend 6 meetings a year online and in-person at our offices in London
  • There is no cost! All travel and expenses are covered
  • Members get vouchers for taking part
  • Members can have their voices heard on issues which are important to them and help shape the work of a national charity
  • They will learn valuable new skills and meet new people
  • They will have access to other exciting opportunities

Please encourage your young people to apply by filling in this short application form by Monday 9th October at 9am. If they would rather apply another way, for example by video, you can visit our website or see the Information Sheet attached for details on how to do this.

Some providers will be registered and inspected by external agencies, such as Ofsted or the Care Quality Commission. Anyone working with children and young people will be required to have appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service Check (the replacement for the Criminal Record Check), safeguarding policies and insurance in place, which they should make available to you on request.
