TRAINING IN SEXUALITY RELATIONSHIPS EDUCATION AND CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME AND OTHER LEARNING DISABILITIES

Starting Friday 15th January, 10am to 12pm and running over 5 Fridays Wendy Uttley will be delivering:

Me, My Body, My Friends, My Life

A course aimed at equipping participants with the confidence, knowledge and resources to deliver this vital topic.

Relevant from the age of 6 upwards. Topics are as follows:

How important such training is for young people with learning disabilities. Public v Privacy

Open discussion encouraged in a  confidential workshop that will not be recorded. A look at resources to teach public and private body parts, places, actions, touch and                   conversations.

activities to help teach this topic.

How do we recognise and manage feelings. Ideas and activities to tackle self help skills

friendships.

Activities to teach appropriate greetings for all involved. Why friendships are vital to our               development. When do we need to know?

community.

How do we know what feeling safe/unsafe feels like?

Techniques to address potential risks. How do we become our own

protector?

Sessions will be delivered via zoom.

They will not be recorded due to the nature of the topic and confidentiality.
