Disclaimer - Information about Services and Safeguarding
The Bradford SEND Local Offer is a free and impartial service provided by Bradford Council. The information contained within the website is available for the purposes of identifying services and provision that are available to children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This information does not represent a recommendation or an endorsement of a Service or Provider and neither does the Bradford Council or its partners make any representations or warranties as to the accuracy of the information.
Anyone seeking to use or access a service or provision is responsible for undertaking their own checks to determine the suitability and fitness for purpose of that service and provision. Some providers will be registered and inspected by external agencies, such as Ofsted or the Care Quality Commission. Anyone working with children and young people will be required to have appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service Check (the replacement for the Criminal Record Check), safeguarding policies and insurance in place, which they should make available to you on request.
Although we make reasonable efforts to keep the information on our website updated, we make no guarantee, whether expressed or implied that the content on our site is accurate, complete or up-to-date.
We often use links to transfer you seamlessly between the pages of our website and those of external websites. We do this where we consider those websites to be relevant, useful or suitable to you.
We can't be held responsible for any material contained on those external websites and we don't accept any liability in connection with any information or services they provide. We can't guarantee that these links will work all of the time and we have no control over the availability of the linked pages and don't necessarily endorse the views or decisions in them.
Many community groups run services for children and adults in which it is important to safeguard participants against abuse and neglect.
One way to do this is to check whether prospective volunteers and employees have a criminal record which makes them unsuitable for particular roles within your group. The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (formerly Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) provides these checks.
DBS is one way you can safeguard children and vulnerable adults, but you should also think about other ways to keep people safe, for example, what you will do if you have concerns about a child or vulnerable adult’s wellbeing, and how you will make sure your staff and volunteers have the skills and knowledge they need to safeguard children and adults.
