We are a charity and social enterprise, providing services that create opportunities for disabled people to live the lifestyle of their choosing.

Established in 1937, we have been providing quality services for over 80 years. As a disability confident leader, we celebrate and promote diversity at every level of our organisation. We are committed to developing new services where there is a need and where we believe we have the ability and resources to meet that need. We provide a range of education and practical opportunities from pre-entry levels up to level 2. We aim to find solutions for disabled people whatever their goals are. Whether you are a disabled person or support somebody who is, we are here to support you.

Our Aim: To provide a range of high quality services which support disabled people.

We provide a range of education and practical opportunities from pre-entry levels up to level 2.

The intent at Disability Action Yorkshire is to implement a high impact, broad and balanced curriculum for all learners.

Disability Action Yorkshire adopts a bespoke curriculum package according to the needs and established levels already attained, which provides learners with the next steps in progression and an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens.

We take account of all learners individual learning requirements and implement an appropriate curriculum to enable learners to participate and achieve their full potential.

Disability Action Yorkshire aims to offer a curriculum, which is balanced and broadly based and which:

Prepares learners at the centre for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

Is ambitious and designed to give all learners, particularly the most disadvantaged and those with special education needs and or disabilities. (SEND) the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.

Is coherently planned and sequenced towards cumulatively sufficient knowledge and skills for future learning and employment.

We focus on: Personal progress, Independence, employment.

Leaning opportunities are designed around the individual, offering a curriculum which could include:/p>

Personal development, independence skills, communication and self advocacy, travel training, accessing the community, working with others, preparation for work, support in work, work experience.

Disability Action Yorkshire can be fully accessed in person or remotely through our online learning packages and we offer a wide range of subject choices. The centre curriculum is designed to:

Implement purposeful learning experiences the impact of which is high standards of achievement.

develop confidence and skills through the implementation of a relevant and flexible curriculum appropriate to learners individual needs.

Offer learners a wide range of accredited courses, which impacts positively on their preparation for their next stage of learning.

Promote respect for all religions, ethnic groups, gender, disability and aptitude.

Enable our learners to aspire to lead an independent life, with the personal and social skills necessary for them to take their place in the community. 

We aim to provide solutions for disabled people whatever their aspirations.

We will work with disabled people, supporting them on their journey into employment.

We have a team of job coaches that will support disabled people in the work place.
