Children's Community Support Team (C.C.S.T.)

What does it do?

C.C.S.T have two service offers for families, a support for Behaviour service and a Sleep Clinic. 

C.C.S.T. also offer Behaviour and Sleep training through Educational Settings.   

Children's Community Support Team

C.C.S.T – Provides a behavioural assessment and strategies for parents/carers whose children and young people with a diagnosed disability or having been identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEND) who present behaviours that challenge.  The child/young person must display behaviours averaging in the region of 150 behaviours per week, which may include violent, aggressive, self-injurious, destructive.

An in-depth holistic assessment of the child/young person will be conducted in all environments that they access. The team work flexibly and directly in the child/young person’s home to model strategies with families on how to understand and manage their young person’s behaviour more effectively.  Anyone can refer into the service.

Sleep Clinic

C.C.S.T Provides a sleep assessment and strategies for parents/carers whose children and young people with a diagnosed disability or having been identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEND) present severe sleep disturbance.  The child/young person must present sleep concerns which may include settling problems, frequent night awakenings or irregular sleep patterns. 

The team will offer advice, strategies and a full sleep programme to improve the sleep quality of the child/young person. Anyone can refer into the service.

Training for Schools

WE BE AWARE WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING REFERRALS FOR TRAINING. 

The team also offers behaviour and sleep training to schools (if schools require training that is not listed then please contact us on the below number to discuss).

Who is it for

C.C.S.T. -   The age criteria for both services listed above is 5-17.  We will only take those young people that we have not worked with previously up to the age of 16, this is due to the length of the assessments and relationship building.
