Bradford and Airedale Continence Service
What do we do?
We are a community based service led by a continence nurse specialist working in partnership with women’s health physiotherapists, consultants, colo-rectal and urology nurse specialist, GP’s and community nurses.
Who is it for?
The service provides assessment for individuals with bladder/bowel problems and incontinence. Referrals are accepted from GPs and community nurses. Individuals can also refer themselves directly by calling 01274 221167.
Clinics are held at Shipley and Keighley Health service.
How do I access this provision?
You can self-refer in by calling 01274 221167 or you will be referred in by your GP or community nurse
Who is this service for?
If you are 18 and over, living in Bradford and Airedale, with bladder and/or bowel needs the team can support you.
What does it do?
The service offers support to young children and young people in their daily care. It provides continence clinics for children/young people with complex bladder and bowel problems at various locations within the Bradford and Airedale District, in schools or at home if felt appropriate. Joint work is undertaken with a variety of health and social care professionals. Education and training for all health and social care staff who support children/young people with continence care. Resource and information on all continence related issues Management of the delivery of products to client’s homes.
Who is it for?
Any child/ young person (0-19 years) still in education. Children with a Bradford and Airedale GP with exclusions in Airedale.
