Here is an overview of why is it important for children, young people with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND), their parent/carers and service providers to leave feedback about Bradford’s Local Offer.
What is the Local Offer?
The Local Offer is a new way of giving children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents or carers information about what activities and support is available in the area where you live.
As well as the Local Offer website offering details of services, we have an alternative format to the website the “Local Offer concertina pocket sized overview booklet" of services as requested by users. Every effort has been made to ensure the overview information within this booklet is accurate at the time of going to print, Aug 2017.
If you would like additional copies of this booklet or are aware of any changes to the information contained in this booklet, please contact Bradford Families Information Service 01274 437503.

How does the Local Offer help you?
It will make it easier to find out what you need to know about SEND, when you need to know it. It tells you where the nearest and most suitable services, activities and support are.
The Local Offer provides a feedback survey, telephone line and email, for you to provide feedback, raise concerns or make a comment or complaint about the Local Offer. In addition each service published provides details about how to provide feedback, raise concerns or make a comment or complaint about those individual services.

Why is this service different?
The Bradford's Local Offer Service and website has been co-produced and developed together by the local offer service, children and young people with SEND, parents/carers and SEND service providers across the Bradford District since 2014. Children and young people and their parent/carers co-produced the website, decided on the design, look, feel and accessibility, that it would be separate to the main council website, and what information and services to publish using the SEND Code of Practise 2014 statutory guidance in a series of workshops across the Bradford district. Once key stakeholders were happy and approved the test version on the website, it was published live. Local Offer pocket booklets and leaflets are co-produced and reviewed by key stakeholders.
The Local Offer website and its information and services published, continue to develop and evolve using the feedback gained by key stakeholders. Key stakeholders review the site and co-produce information to be published to benefit children and young people with SEND and their parent/carers.
It is more than a directory of services. It brings everything together in one place and is developed using the feedback gained by those key users.
Local Offer Annual Reports
Local Offer annual reports are published on the Local Offer website to let you know what your feedback said and what actions have been taken as a result. The comments received from children and young people with SEND, their parent carers and service providers are published in the Local Offer annual reports in a “You said” “We did” format.
Bradford Local Offer publishes 2 versions of each annual report;
Parents, carers, children and young people will continue to be involved in the on-going co-production, review and development of the Local Offer Service.
