What does it do?
Families First is a Bradford programme, funded by the Government, running from 2012 to 2015, which will work with families facing serious problems, to “turn their lives round”. We will offer a joined-up ’menu’ of support, looking at the needs of the whole family, not just of individual members.
The programme is also designed to last beyond the end of the funding, by making long-lasting changes to the way that different agencies, such as the Council, Police and Health Services, work together, in order to improve services and get better value for money
Who is it for?
Families First aims to support families who are experiencing a mixture of difficulties in their lives.
Our key targets, as set by the Government, are to:
*Cut levels of crime and anti-social behaviour,
*Support all over 16s in the families into work
We also aim to deal with other problems that the families may be facing including:
*Debt and financial difficulties,
We aim to work with around 600 families in the first year and similar numbers in the next two year.
How do I access it?
We are building up a picture of the needs of families who could benefit from the support of Families First. We are also looking at which services are already working with members of the families. They will contact the families to offer a programme of support, which may involve a keyworker, who will make sure that services are provided in a joined-up way which meets the family’s needs.
